Alan Ginsberg has more than 35 years of experience providing financial advisory services to corporate and private equity clients. Alan began his investment banking career at Salomon Brothers in 1983, followed by being a key member of group moves to UBS and to Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. He remained at DLJ through its merger with Credit Suisse until 2004, when he was recruited to head HSBC’s Financial Institutions Group Americas. Following HSBC, Alan was a senior member of the Bank of America Securities Financial Institutions Group as well as the Barclays Americas Financial Institutions Group.

Notable transactions include advising Bank America on its $3 billion investment in China Construction Bank and its $21 billion acquisition of LaSalle Bank in Chicago. Also at Bank America, Alan advised General Atlantic on its $550 million investment in the Brazilian Mercantile & Futures Exchange.

Alan has advised on more than 75 strategic transactions and advisory assignments, as well as on many financings and derivative executions during his tenure as an investment banker. Clients have included Bank of America, Credit Suisse, Ocwen, Fleet Financial Group, Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette, Comerica, Bank of Nova Scotia, LaBranche & Co., Lava Trading, Ameritrade, E*trade, Bank of New York, Mercantile Bancorp, PNC, National Bank of Canada, NASD, Unibanco, Itau, Bamerindus, BCN, EF Hutton, Texas Commerce Bank, Chemical Bank, HSBC, Citibank, WestOne Bancorp and numerous private equity firms, credit funds, Fintech companies and SPACs.

He currently serves as an Independent Director of StoneCastle Financial, a publicly traded closed end fund, as well as, StoneCastle Trust Company, and is a member of Yaleʹs Peabody Museum Advisory Board. Alan holds a B.A. in Economics from Yale University.
