Tod Perkins is the founding member of Perkins Advisors LLC, a strategy consulting and advisory firm focused on serving the needs of the financial services industry. Perkins Advisors recent activity includes advising Cowen Inc in its sale to TD Financial ($1.9B EV) as well as Cowen’s acquisitions of Quarton International, MHT Partners and Portico Partners and Cowen’s strategic investment in PolySign, a digital asset clearing platform. In addition, Perkins Advisors represented TCF Financial in its $3.6B merger with Chemical Financial.

Prior to forming Perkins Advisors, Mr. Perkins spent over two decades on Wall Street in various advisory and operating capacities with a primary focus on representing financial services companies. During his career, he served as an advisor to C-Suite Executives and Boards of Directors for numerous clients including BankAmerica, BancOne, CIBC, DLJ, Wells Fargo, FirstMerit, Regions Financial, North Fork Bancorp, Marshall & Ilsley, Banco do Brasil, Shinhan and TD Financial

During his tenure on Wall Street, Mr. Perkins advised clients on merger and acquisition transactions totaling over $250B in value and helped raise over $75B in  capital across all products (debt, IPO’s, equity follow-on’s, converts, securitizations etc.). In addition, Mr. Perkins has had extensive cross-border experience with clients in Brazil, Canada, Japan, Korea and throughout Europe.

Mr. Perkins most recent bulge bracket role was leading the Depository Institutions investment banking practice for the Americas at Barclays where he joined in July of 2011.

Prior to Barclays Mr. Perkins served as a Managing Director in the Financial Institutions Group at JPMorgan in New York where he was responsible for the Group’s Western US operations and Cross-Pacific Financial Institutions activities. Prior to joining JPMorgan, Mr. Perkins was a Managing Director and senior coverage officer for DLJ Securities, which was sold to Credit-Suisse in 2000. Mr. Perkins advised DLJ’s CEO and Board of Directors in the $13B sale to Credit-Suisse. Mr. Perkins started his career in as a Financial Analyst at Salomon Brothers.

Mr. Perkins also serves as a Senior Advisor and Board member of GiftFly LLC, a digital payments technology firm.

Mr. Perkins received a B.S. in Finance in from Oregon State University with a minor in Philosophy. He continues to be actively involved at Oregon State where he served for 10 years on the OSU Foundation Board of Trustees. As a Trustee, Mr. Perkins has served in several roles including Chair of the Investment Committee which holds responsibility for the University’s nearly $1 billion endowed and non-endowed funds. In addition to Mr. Perkins involvement on the Board of Trustees, he serves on OSU’s Athletics Advisory Committee and is active in advancing Oregon State’s student-athlete experience. For the College of Business, Mr. Perkins has sat on the Capital Campaign Cabinet and is a member of the Dean’s Circle of Excellence.

Mr. Perkins served as a Board Member for Sharps LLC, a men’s grooming consumer products company, and as an Advisory Board Member for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

Mr. Perkins is an avid fitness, health and wellness and longevity enthusiast. He also enjoys cooking, adventure travel and spending time with his son. He is a native Oregonian and currently lives in New Canaan, CT.
